In Newton, parts stores usually open early and close late seven days a week, while salvage yards keep shorter hours and may charge a small entry fee. Across Massachusetts, dealer service is the safest route for recall work and warranty repairs, which are free, and for software-heavy jobs on newer cars. Fuel prices change daily and vary block by block, so the listing's location and hours matter more than the brand. For rentals, reserve ahead on weekends and check what insurance the agency requires.
Hours have not been published for this listing yet. Most businesses of this type in Newton keep standard business hours, but call ahead to be sure, especially on weekends and holidays. You can reach R S Gas at (617) 964-5598; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
Its Google rating is 3.6 out of 5 from 79 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Newton is in Massachusetts, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Newton follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Very slow full service. Antiquated setup. Bathroom unavailable because they lost the bathroom key. Price online out of date, higher at the pump. Avoid at all costs.

Said it was $3.60 per gal. first time having someone pump my gas for me. He gets finished and they're charging me $4.20 per gal! Hell kind of scam is this

"Avoid this place. They charged my pregnant wife $25 for a single windshield wiper during an ice storm. Total price gouging and very predatory behavior. Definitely don’t come here unless you want to get scammed."

George is a great man. Instead of letting me (19-20 year old guy) spend countless thousands on my old car, he was honest and truthful to me and only recommended what truly needed to be done. For example, one time I had brought my car to a place in Watertown street and they had quoted me about $1700 worth of work. Just so happens one of out of the three things they told me needed to fixed did not, and along with that the price they quoted was still incredibly high. I can really go on and on forever about this spot but just take my word for it, me and my mother have been going here for 3 years and it’s been nothing but perfection. The mechanics are also top notch, despite having a small garage they always got my car back to me within the same day and along with that they never rush me/ charge extra when I can’t pick it up the same day.

George is the best and so knowledgeable - I could sit there and chat with him for hours ( and don't worry my spouse does exactly that ) 😂 been going there for over 14 years for inspections , gas and anything mechanic related .. he's truly amazing !
